The status bar occasionally displays "Peerscape [Error]" after installing or uninstalling Firefox add-ons.We think that this problem, which we see occasionally, results from a failure of PythonExt to register the installed Python components when the registry of add-ons is updated. Go to Add-ons in the Tools menu and try disabling and then reenabling PythonExt.
Highly restrictive firewalls are problematic.If attempting to accept or create an invitation code or a recovery code hangs waiting for a response, and no peer connections ever get established, you should consider the possibility that you might be behind an exceptionally restrictive firewall that does not allow outbound TCP connections to arbitrary ports. Peerscape cannot function in such an environment.
